Theme of the week: How we prepare our body for the cold season

The transition from a season to another means new eating habits, other allergies and new advices from our expert, dr. Ana-Maria Stoica. Here is the wrap-up from this week's  "The Health Expert Moment":

  • Welcome the fall with a well done plan to avoid germs and allergies. Stock up on high vitamins food as vitamin A, C and D and add to your diet quercetin, bromelain and nettles.
  • A season detox is perfect if you wish for more energy or a better sleep and digestion. Remove processed food and sugar from your diet, exercise, hydrate yourself and get enough sleep.
  • Autumn is the right time to focus you attention to the inside. There are lots of mindfulness practices you can deepen on: meditation, journaling, yoga or breathing techniques.

At ''The Health Expert Moment'', we talked also about adapting the diet to the new season:

🍂 Most vegetables and fruits currently available support the immune system and are rich in anti-allergic nutrients and these align with our body’s seasonal health needs.

🎃 Pumpkin and sweet potatoes, cauliflower, cabbage, beets, garlic, pomegranate, olive oil, grapes and teas of all kinds should not be missing from the autumn diet.

🍎 Seasonal foods provide the body with exactly what it needs: autumn - cooling. Apples help the body get rid of heat and prepare for winter.
